2. Trend signal — why now?

3. The opportunity

The FAA just dropped a 36-month deadline on a population that historically did SMS on a clipboard. Big iron — Polaris VOCUS, Baldwin SM4, Ideagen, ASMS-Pro Enterprise — built for 50-aircraft flight departments with a director of safety. The 1,200+ small certificate holders (1–10 aircraft, 1–15 staff, often single-PIC) need a workable SMS yesterday but won’t pay $30K/yr for a module pack that assumes departments they don’t have.

Where incumbents are weak:

  • Manual generation. Incumbents sell software; the operator still has to write the 80–150 page SMS manual. AI does this in minutes if it can ingest the operator’s existing GOM, OpSpecs, and aircraft list.
