SAM.gov registration is the single mandatory gate for every federal contractor and grantee in the US — no active registration, no award, no payment. There are roughly 612,000 active registered entities on SAM.gov, and every one of them must renew on a hard 365-day clock. Miss it by minutes and you lose money.

The pain is documented and brutal:
