The supply side already concedes the pain. Certivo’s electronics PFAS guide (2026) admits flatly: “Email-based requests for PFAS data generate low response rates, often less than 40%, and suppliers take 30-90 days to respond.” (Certivo). Assent published in Sept 2025 that across global supply chains they had found 695 unique PFAS substances — too many for a Shopify brand to chase by hand (Assent press release).

And the federal layer is collapsing in the right direction.
