They do not register equipment with Carrier, they do not file a labor claim with Rheem, they do not catch a transposed serial before it bounces. The third-party labor-warranty providers (JB Warranties, Trinity, AIG) made their own portal claim fast — Trinity advertises a sub-5-minute claim — but that only covers the plans sold through them, on one portal. The real workload is the manufacturer warranty across Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Bradford White, Rinnai, each with its own portal, its own registration form, its own claim format.

That fragmentation is exactly why nobody has built the boring middle layer.
