3. The opportunity
The gap is structural. The existing fix for messy prescriptions is “make the dentist use a digital portal” — EasyRx, MyDentlab, the lab’s own web form. That fix has a fatal flaw: the lab does not control its customers. A 3-person lab serving 40 dentists cannot force 40 busy practices to abandon their prescription pads. The dentist who has scrawled on paper for 20 years will keep scrawling, and the lab keeps it because it needs the revenue. Portal adoption among a typical lab’s accounts stalls well short of half.
