2. Trend signal — why now?

iFood ended 2025 with 380,000+ restaurants on the platform — it added 335,000 new partners in 2025 alone (+83% YoY), and 81% of new sign-ups were small and mid-size businesses (E-Commerce Brasil, Oct 2025). That’s a flood of mom-and-pop kitchens onto a platform whose payout (repasse) statements they cannot read.

The complaint volume is loud and specific. Reclame Aqui is full of restaurant owners documenting deductions they can’t explain: a R$108.48 sale that nets R$49 after deductions, a R$9.90 item that pays out R$4.41, promotions iFood enrolled them in without authorization but still charged commission on, and cancelled-but-delivered orders with near-zero compensation. iFood’s own help docs tell owners to “download the Excel, filter out the R$0.00 and blank rows, and sum the columns by hand” to check a single month — a multi-hour chore most owners never do.

The deductions stack — commission (8–27%), service fee, promo co-funding, delivery-fee share, cancellation reversals — and the only recourse today is either (a) ignore it, or (b) hire a lawyer: firms like Urbano Ribeiro Advogados now advertise “iFood cancelled the order and didn’t pay — here’s how the restaurant collects.” There’s a category between ignore and sue, and nobody self-serve owns it for restaurants.

3. The opportunity

In the US this is a known, paid category: “delivery platforms are quietly costing your restaurant $300–$1,000/month” is a Medium headline, and Trintech, PAR, and Optipro all sell DoorDash/Uber Eats reconciliation and one-click dispute filing. Brazil has 380K iFood restaurants and no equivalent self-serve tool aimed at them.

The incumbents that touch this in Brazil miss the SMB restaurant:

  • Koncili is built for marketplace e-commerce sellers (its own intake asks “Supermarket / Pharmacy / Pet Shop”), reconciles SKU-level pricing, and its flagship is a done-for-you human service — wrong shape and wrong price for a R$30K/month lanchonete.
  • Saipos / Food Sistemas fold reconciliation into a full R$220/mo restaurant ERP. To get the audit you must rip out your POS and run your whole operation on them. 25K restaurants do; 355K don’t.

The 10× move: a thin, standalone audit that needs nothing but the restaurant’s iFood/Rappi login (or an uploaded statement). It doesn’t replace anyone’s POS. It does one job — “did they pay you what they owed, and exactly which line items can you contest” — and then it does the part everyone actually wants: it generates the ready-to-file contestação with order IDs, screenshots of the policy, and the math, so the owner (or their accountant) files it in two clicks instead of paying a lawyer.

  • Rough TAM reasoning: 380K iFood restaurants; strip the ~25K already on Saipos-class ERPs and the chains with finance teams, and you have ~300K+ SMB restaurants with zero reconciliation. Add Rappi-only and multi-platform operators. Even 1% penetration at R$79/mo ≈ R$2.8M ARR.
  • Why now for them: The 2025 SMB sign-up wave is new to delivery economics — they haven’t built workarounds, they’re feeling the deductions for the first time, and they’re actively complaining out loud.

5. Product sketch (MVP)

6. AI angle — what’s load-bearing

The statements are messy, inconsistent across plan types, and change format. AI is doing real work: parsing heterogeneous Excel/PDF exports into a normalized per-order ledger, classifying each deduction line into a category, and — the hard part — deciding which deductions are contestable under iFood/Rappi policy (an unauthorized promo vs. a legitimately agreed one; a cancellation that should have paid out vs. one that shouldn’t). Then it drafts the contestação argument in correct Portuguese with the right policy citation. This is the localization play — that’s the whole thesis. A generic US delivery-reconciliation tool can’t read an iFood relatório de conciliação, doesn’t know Rappi’s deduction taxonomy, can’t cite Brazilian platform policy, and doesn’t draft a Portuguese contestação. Local specifics exploited: iFood/Rappi statement formats and plan types; Portuguese-language disputes and the Código de Defesa do Consumidor angle owners invoke; WhatsApp as the default owner channel; Real pricing (a R$79/mo tier works where a US$49 tier wouldn’t); and PIX-friendly billing.
